Jigsaws that actually work on a phone.
Not yet releasedA jigsaw puzzle built for a phone screen rather than squeezed onto one.
Sort, snap and settle the pieces at whatever pace suits you. No timer, no pressure, and nothing that needs a connection.
Jigsawed is in development and does not have a release date yet. When it is ready it will appear here and on the App Store and Google Play.
Why jigsaws are hard on a phone
Most jigsaw apps are a desktop puzzle shrunk down. You end up pinching and dragging around a board far larger than the screen, hunting for a piece you saw a minute ago, losing your place every time you zoom. The puzzle stops being the puzzle and the interface becomes the puzzle.
Jigsawed starts from the screen you actually have. Pieces are sized to be picked up with a thumb. The tray sorts itself as you work, so the piece you want is findable rather than buried. Zoom exists, but you should not need it.
How it plays
Choose an image and a piece count, then work at whatever pace suits you. Pieces snap when they are close enough, so there is no fighting for pixel accuracy. Nothing is timed and nothing is scored.
Your progress is kept on the device as you go, so a puzzle you leave half-finished on a train is exactly where you left it that evening. It works with no connection at all.
